Tension can be found in music, visual art, performance and all kinds of art forms that trigger an emotion, but also surprise, amaze of make you uncomfortable. With GRAUKUNST & the festival we’re always looking for tension in different music forms, where atonal tones create a  field of tension, be it with music or visual art. With the TENSE exhibition we want to highlight, zoom in on this feeling of tension.

The exhibition GRAUKUNST is a prominent part of Grauzone festival since 2014. GRAUKUNST has grown into an (international) platform for emerging talent and renowned artists, in which more than 50 national and international artists have participated such as Genesis Breyer P Orridge, Tracey Emin, Alan Vega, Johan Tahon, Lee Ranaldo, Marrissa Nadler, Gemma Thomson, Nik Christensen, Theis Wendt, Filip Vervaet, Harold de Bree and Isabel Reitemeyer and many more.
