Rare DM, the creative alias of Erin Hoagg, merges dark aesthetics with danceable beats in a sound that is both haunting and deeply personal. Armed with vintage analog synthesizers and drum machines, Hoagg draws inspiration from EBM, electroclash, and post-punk to craft raw, intimate songs exploring love, loss, and longing.
Rare DM first gained widespread attention with her viral video send nudes, which showcased her unique ability to turn vulnerability into captivating art. Since then, she’s toured extensively, sharing stages with the likes of Molchat Doma, Mareux, and Drab Majesty. Her live sets, performed entirely without a DAW, are spellbinding and have graced festivals such as SXSW and Substance LA.
