Soft Vein (Us)
SOFT VEIN, the California-based darkwave solo project of musician Justin Chamberlain, emerged in 2022. Chamberlain, who also plays guitar and synth for synthpop act Harsh Symmetry (who performed at Grauzone in 2024), debuted with the haunting single "GIVEUPTHEGHOST," self-produced and mixed by Ewan Kay (KONTRAVOID). Blending industrial, darkwave, and electronic elements, SOFT VEIN explores themes of desire, love, and life's nature. Their sound is a mix of urgency, visceral danger, lonesome longing, and dark romance, described as painting "a vivid picture of desperation and lust in the dark, but with a strangely romantic bend" (POST-PUNK.COM). The debut album, "PRESSED IN GLASS," was released on October 20th, 2023 via Artoffact Records. Grauzone Festival eagerly anticipates their Dutch premiere.
