Day one! Let's kick of the festival!
The Grauzone festival online edition is here! After months of preparation we’re very excited for you to finally experience everything. For today we’ve prepared a list of different tips for stuff to check out in our brand new virtual festival here: https://paard.live/grauzone
Check out the first live show with Belgium band SONS at 20:00 CET. But we also start with an introduction with the curator of the MOU museum in Belgium and have recorded a total of 6 performances between the works of visual artist Johan Tahon and the walls of the MOU Museum in Oudenaarde. Check out our tips here for Friday:
CHVE 20:50 - 21:10 CET Grauroom 2
Colin H. van Eeckhout (CHVE) is a dark, ritualistic experience. A revelation. Hypnotic and sacred. A spiritual energy, born at a sea of pain and suffering. A metamorphosis of light and darkness. At Grauzone, CHVE specially performs at MOU Museum in its world famous Cloth Hall surrounded by tapestries from the 14th-16th century and a huge hanging sculpture from Johan Tahon. The combination of Tahon, the tapestries and CHVE is magical, dont miss this unique performance!
Luis Vasquez, 21:00 - 21:30 CET Grauroom 1
Luis Vasquez, the Los Angeles-based artist best known for his post-punk project The Soft Moon, has released his first-ever album under his own name, A Body Of Errors: Reverb-flushed synths, pounding, chase scene-ready percussion and jittery strings are all over this record. Many tracks are gothic and bleak., Last month Luis recorded a live stream in the Californian desert playing this album, which you can now view exclusively on Grauzone.
Whispering Sons 21:20 -22:20 CET GRAUROOM 2
Belgian post-punk heroes Whispering Sons played Grauzone festival several times. They are now back playing their first full show since the pandemic. Their set features 7 (!) songs from their new upcoming second album ‘’Several Others’’, several songs making their debut here! And, on top, they also play their hits from the first album. Before the show there’s an exclusive interview with singer Fenne.
Tomo, Go & Kohei 22:20 - 22:50 CET GRAUROOM 1
Tomo Katsurada and Go Kurosawa from Kikagaku Moyo, and Kohei Matsuda from Bo Ningen joined forces to create a Japanese psychedelic project band. Specially for Grauzone they wrote songs which will be performed for the first -and only?- time, so be sure to catch this while you can!
Reka 00:00 - 01:00 CET CLUB GRAUZONE
While regularly playing nights at some of the most “sacred” dance-floors alongside DJs that characterise themself through intense EBM and speedy techno, it’s REKA’s industrial yet welcoming and warm sound which makes her stand out within this dark sound spectrum. If you are lucky to listen to her sets, you will witness her almost “shamanistic” ability to create the right atmosphere and vibe through DJ sets, filled with unique and fearless dark sounds.
