Photo's & video on demand: the final day of Grauzone festival
We're overwhelmed by the extremely positive response we had this weekend! For two days worldwide we had a program with amazing performances but also keeping all Grauzone values intact: gender equality in the line-up, the dialogue between art and music, introducing young emerging acts, several world premieres, and on location recording the acts everything was vegan!
Yesterday was the 2nd and last day for Grauzone 2021. We kicked off with an interview of Belgium artist Johan Tahon where we talked about crossing the boundaries of art and music and intergrated in Grauzone Festival. Right after we streamed the 2nd show of of the hottest artists from Belgium; Bolis Pupul. The third act was King Hannah with her King Hannah will bring you some smokey, hypnotic shoegaze dream pop from the UK.
We met a number of different artists, including Susanna Inglada. Together with Inglada, we collaborated with Global Charming, who performed in between her art pieces, which resulted in a beautiful interplay of art and music. Other highlights were 4B2M (4 brothers and members of De Staat, Go Back to The Zoo, St.Tropez) which surprised the audience with their kraut and eclectic music style. But also the Amsterdam duo Spill Gold, where we created a psychedelic compelling show with artist Daphne Karstens and lighting designer Roeland Schuijen.
A band with which Grauzone has a lot in common is the Amenra, especially the vision of how they want to bring art and music together. The recording was made in the studio of Johan Tahon, an enormous church, where Amenra played between the plaster and unfinished sculptures. This gave a serene and beautiful result where art and music fused together. But also singer Sylvie Kreusch sang among the sculptures of Tahon, but then in the 16th century MOU Museum in Oudenaarde. one of the biggest surprises for the audience was the Belgian band De Nooit Moede, who had never played a real live show before.
At the same time played the French DJ / producer Pablo Bozzi, who mixed a mix of wave, techno and italo and had specially recorded this in Berlin. But also Zanias, an artist who has played at Grauzone several times in different formations. She closed the last night of Grauzone with a spectacular DJ set in the Jungle of Australia.
