LAST NAMES ANNOUNCED FOR GRAUZONE 2025
From Friday, February 7, to Sunday, February 9, 2025, the multidisciplinary Grauzone Festival returns to the heart of The Hague. With the announcement of over eight exciting new names, including Sunday headliner TR/ST, the lineup is now complete. Joining the roster are David Vunk, Rare DM, Femme Fugazi, Loveth Besomoh, Bongloard, JC Thomaz & The Missing Slippers, and more. Additionally, we’re proud to present the Graukunst solo exhibition Schutz Der Einheit by Dutch artist and musician Bob Mollema. These new additions complement previously announced acts such as X Mal Deutschland, Zola Jesus, Marie Davidson, ADULT., High Vis, Chalk, and more.
We’re thrilled to welcome TR/ST back to Grauzone! This time, the artist returns with his latest album, Performance, released in 2024 via DAIS Records—a label that has also brought Grauzone talents like Riki and SRSQ to the stage. TR/ST’s exclusive performance at Grauzone promises an unforgettable experience for festival-goers.
Rotterdam’s DJ and producer David Vunk, known for his electrifying performances, brings over three decades of experience. From acid to Italo disco, techno to electro, his dynamic energy is unmatched. Vunk has also crafted remixes for artists like Charlie and Curses, while his label Moustache Records has released music from Grauzone favorites like Kendal and Pablo Bozzi.
Rare DM, hailing from New York, blends dark aesthetics with dance-pop sensibilities. Using vintage analogue synthesizers and drum machines, she draws from EBM, electroclash, post-punk, and more, crafting intimate, magical soundscapes. Los Angeles-based Soft Blue Shimmer offers a dreamy mix of shoegaze and hazy, emotionally charged instrumentation. Their music is a must for fans of Slowdive.
From the Netherlands, Femme Fugazi navigates the edge of manic episodes and cathartic possession, fusing echoing post-punk with frenetic garage-punk. Their raw energy draws comparisons to Anne Clark and Amyl and the Sniffers. Loveth Besamoh, another Rotterdam-based talent, blends new wave, krautpunk, and genres like afro rock, shoegaze, and post-punk. His fusion of Cameroonian roots and dynamic instrumentation creates a psychedelic, genre-bending sound. Bongloard delivers ferocious garage rock with fuzzy guitars, aggressive bass riffs, and thunderous drums. Inspired by Thee Oh Sees and Ty Segall, this Dutch trio is set to bring raw energy to the stage. Finally, JC Thomaz & The Missing Slippers bring a gritty mix of dirty rock ‘n’ roll, 70s garage rock, and punk, featuring three drummers. Fans of The Cramps and Gun Club won’t want to miss their rebellious live show.
Graukunst Exhibition: Schutz Der Einheit
This year’s Graukunst exhibition features Schutz Der Einheit, a special showcase by Dutch artist and musician Bob Mollema. Exploring themes of rebellion and self-acceptance, the exhibition includes new pencil illustrations, an on-site oil painting, and a mural created exclusively for Grauzone. The exhibition opens on February 7 at The Grey Space in the Middle and is free to attend.
World Premiere: A Beautiful Place - A Documentary on Lebanon Hanover
Grauzone proudly presents the world premiere of A Beautiful Place, a documentary about post-punk icons Lebanon Hanover. Directed by close friend and photographer Isolde Woudstra, the film offers an intimate look into the lives of Larissa Iceglass and William Maybelline, featuring their tour stops in Bristol, London, Paris, and Berlin. Following the screening, audiences can participate in an exclusive Q&A.
